What's up man? Lately I'm in Korea. And with lately I mean today. After several hours in a tube in the sky, me and my accomplice set foot in the Far East. Then it was more tubes again. Trains and tunnels. We left the airport and drove through a lush and mountaineous land, dotted with high-rise settlements. More tunnels. At some point we noticed that we were getting closer to the country's capital. The train filled up considerabely.
After an hour or so we changed our rail service again, traversing some kind of underground shopping mall. The next ride proved to be the last one. Humidity and heat hit us upon exiting the tunnels of the Seoul Metro system. For the first time we saw the capital with our jetlagged eyes. N still had some power in his phone left, granting us guidance to our accomodation.
We took a shower and went scavenging for nutrition. Finally we found some kind of noodle shop and ordered two random meals plus sides. The cold noodle soup of mine turned out to be an excellent choice. The same could be said of Ns hotter variation, although he had some slight trouble adjusting to the metal chopsticks being commonly used in Korea. Overall: Quite tasty.
The day continued on the hostels rooftop. We drank beer and smoked cigarettes in the punishing heat of the late Korean summer. Waiting for the evening to start, so that our bodies would be able to pick up some kind of morally and biologically justifiable biorythm again. Still waiting.
