What this is about? Maybe it is about visual interest. Maybe about the city of Dublin. Maybe it is simply a way to present the photos I take and how I look at my environment.

The city as a world of shapes. An interplay of lines and curves. Walls and cubes obscure the sight. Something emerges. An interesting pattern. Interplays of shapes. Geometric scenes broken up by shadows.

The city as a world of work. A social space and hub for economical activity. People go from A to B. Work. Leisure. Buy something. Edible or wearable.

The city as distance. The movement and transport of bodies becomes important. Your body has to be in a certain place at a certain time. Execute some kind of activity. You have to move between various cubicles. The serve different purposes. My sleep cubus is far away from my work cubus. The distance between the two can become a source of daily annoyance.

The city. A concept. How you view it is what you make out of it. A source of stress. A source of joy. Back to nature and the simple life? A kitschy fantasy.

The camera helps to focus visually and to see clearly from different perspectives. Through observing the geometric aspect of the urban space, the social aspects become apparent. Clear vision through concentration. It is actually a lot of fun and very calming.

I try to understand my environment from my vantage point. I try to understand through seeing and reading.

This blog is already continuing for over a year on a weekly basis. Wow! Thank you for sticking along.
